Congratulations! If you stuck with us this far, you finished the book of Ephesians today! What are some of the big ideas you learned in Ephesians? How will what you've learned in this book change the way you think, speak, and act?
Let's look at Paul's conclusion in his letter to the church at Ephesus.
Paul closes his letter with a blessing of peace, love, faith, and grace.
I'd like to challenge you to look up each of these words, and see how they apply to you. This will only take a few minutes, after all-you're already online, just jump over to dictionary.com!
What does it mean for you to have Peace? To feel love? To have faith? To understand grace?
Peace (shalom in the Hebrew, meaning health, soundness, and prosperity). Paul wants for the church a peace, a freedom from distraction or disturbance, so that we can focus on what matters, Christ.
Love. God is love. I believe Paul wants us to be filled with the love of God, that the love might pour back out of us.
Faith. Paul wants for us Faith in Christ, the faith that can move mountains. When we truly believe deeply who God is, and what he has done for us, the possibility for results is endless.
Grace. Be reminded that is is by no power of our own that we have been saved, but only through God's goodness and graciousness.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast."
