Hey thanks for sticking with us this far and congratulations for finishing Ephesians. If you are just joining us we are glad to have you walk along with us and what a great time to as well since we are starting a new book of the bible, Colossians. I pray that God will open your eyes and heart to His word and that you will get insight to what He is speaking about and what He is saying to you.
I'm going to try and keep it short. So let's look at this verse.
V13 – 14 ~ “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Rescued? Well what has He rescued us from? What do we need rescuing from? I mean, I know from hell, but could there be more? Well let’s look at two things; first we need to realize that he has rescued us, so it has already been done. He has already made it available for us to be freed as well as the power to live a life worthy of the Lord and pleasing to Him. (Col. 1:10)
Second let's borden what He has recused us from. We tend to think that hell is the only place He has recused us from. But what about from the things of this world? Like our insecurities, the lies of the world telling us that we have to live a certain way, or look a certain way, or that we have to have certain things in order to live a happy life. Which is not true. But we have a choice to make, to choose to take the freedom He has given us and hold on to the truths and promises that He has given us and says we have in His word and live to please God. Or we can choose to listen to what the world says and live a life trying to live, fit in and please the world.
Think what would our life be like if we didn't care about what people thought about us living our life for Christ. Because those things that are holding you back from shining your light for Christ is the things God wants to free you from.
